Josh Ross to headline Surrey Canada Day 2026 at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds

A Canadian country star will headline Surrey’s Canada Day 2026 festivities on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds.

Josh Ross, the first Canadian male country artist in almost three decades to top the Billboard Country Airplay Chart will lead and all-Canadian cast of entertainers at Western Canada’s biggest July 1 festival. The Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre will act as the main stage with some smaller stages set up across the north end of the Fairgrounds.

“Surrey Canada Day is one of our city’s signature events, bringing people together to celebrate what makes us Canadian,” Mayor Brenda Locke said in a press release. “As one of the country’s most diverse communities, Surrey shows how our differences shape who we are.”

Locke added that she is “grateful” to both the provincial and federal governments for their financial support. That support helps “make this free family friendly event possible,” she said.

Ross shot to stardom in 2025 when his hit “Single Again” rocketed to No. 1 on U.S. country radio. He is the first male country artist to hit No. 1 south of the line since Paul Brandt did it with his chart-topper “My Heart Would Cry for You” in 1996. Before that, only the iconic Hank Snow has hit No. 1 in the U.S. for a male artist. Snow topped the charts a whopping seven times with his first No. 1 coming in 1950 via the hit “I’m Movin’ On.”

Other Canadian artists opening for Ross include: Lee Aaron, a Canadian rocker with a multi-decade career, and Tyler Shaw, a multi-platinum singer-songwriter. Other performances set for July 1 include: Reckless, a North Delta-based Bryan Adams tribute band who counts the Surrey NOW-Leader’s own Tom Zillich as a former member, Vancouver-based rock band Brass Camel, and Berk Joidon, “a folk and roots artist whose songwriting reflects classic country and blues influences and his Métis heritage,” notes the release.

“Surrey Canada Day is one of our favourite events of the year and we’re thrilled for Prospera to be back as Presenting Sponsor,” Cary Ransome, Chief Member Experience Officer at Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union also said in the release. “We have deep roots in Surrey and look forward to celebrating our wonderful community and country at this outstanding event.”

In addition to the Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre, there will be three other stages: The Siam Stage, an indigenous performance and cultural sharing stage; the family stage, family-friendly entertainment and activities will be featured there; and the community stage, which will have DJ’s, dance battles, and other activities.

There will also be amusement rides, food trucks, a beer garden, an ice cream zone that will feature free samples, and a large-scale soccer activity zone celebrating World Cup 2026. As always the night will be capped off with a fireworks display.

The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with fireworks commencing at approximately 10:15 p.m.

The Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre is located on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds at 17728 64th Avenue
